An intensive analysis of a selected problem related to criminal behavior and the commission of crime or another special topic in criminal justice. May be repeated with different topics for a total of 6 hours credit.

Prerequisites

(LIBR 150 may be taken concurrently).

Course Outcomes

After successfully completing the course, the learner will be able to:

  • Analyze the effects of the historical context on specific aspects of human culture.
  • Articulate and support a personal opinion with specific reference to the preparatory works.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of the contribution of the liberal arts to the development of civilization.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamental values which support the tradition of the culture(s)
    presented.
  • Study in-depth one aspect of a criminal justice problem and write an analytical paper.
  • Write insightful, appropriately developed answers to essay test questions concerning the works studied.
