Repeating a Course

Students are allowed to repeat a course if they have a desire to improve the grade. When a course is repeated, the new grade is recorded in the Term earned. The symbol “R” appears adjacent to the grade earned for each attempt when a course has been repeated. Only the last completed attempt counts toward the degree and is included in the grade-point average. For the previous course, its grade and credit hours remain on the transcript and are omitted when calculating the GPA and not counting toward graduation. Specific courses with variable content may be repeated for graduation credit and included in the GPA each term. These are identified in the course descriptions.
